Group

Primary group/Secondary group - A Primary group is a typically small social group whose members share close, personal, enduring Primary relationships. These groups are marked by member's concern for one another, shared activities and culture, and long periods of time spent together.

M96 group of galaxies - The M96 group of galaxies (also known as the Leo I group or simply the M96 group) is a physical group of galaxies in the Leo constellation consisting of Spiral Galaxy M95, Spiral Galaxy M96, Elliptical Galaxy M105, and a number of fainter galaxies. This group does not contain the Leo I dwarf galaxy, which is actually a member of the Local Group, making the group's alternate name confusing.

Hyperbolic group - In group theory, a hyperbolic group, also called negatively curved group, word-hyperbolic group, Gromov-hyperbolic group, \delta-hyperbolic group, is a finitely generated group equipped with a word metric satisfying certain properties characteristic of hyperbolic geometry.

Permutation group - In mathematics, a permutation group is a group G whose elements are permutations of a given set M, and whose group operation is the composition of permutations in G (which are thought of as bijective functions from the set M to itself); the relationship is often written as (G,M). Note that the group of all permutations of a set is the symmetric group; the term permutation group is usually restricted to mean a subgroup of the symmetric group.

The Support Group Sourcebook: What They Are, How You Can Find One, and How They Can Help You by Linda L. Klein,
Support groups are communities made up of kindred souls-people who share a common, defining life experience. Whether that experience is cancer, the death of a loved one, chemical abuse, or domestic violence, support groups can provide the meaningful connection we can’ t find anywhere else. There are thousands of groups to join for support. But how do we choose the right one? What makes one group fail Group and another succeed? And if we want to start our own group, where do we begin Group and how do we keep it going? Cancer group facilitator Linda Klein has provided a one-stop resource for all your questions about support groups. You’ ll find invaluable tips on how to: Choose a group Group and participate effectively Start your own group Group and develop its potential Take part in online support groups-safely In this book, you’ ll read participants’ personal accounts of their group experiences. Potential group members will find tips on how to benefit fully from a support group, includin what to expect-and not expect-from a group situation. Group leaders will find handy discussion guides as well as sample press releases Group and public service announcements for reaching prospective members. For those who want to join a group but don’ t know where to begin, Group and for those who want to form a group but don’ t know how, The Support Group Sourcebook will provide you with that vital first step toward helping yourself-and others.

Theory of Lie Groups by Claude C. Chevalley,

Theory of Lie Groups by Claude C. Chevalley,
This famous book was the first treatise on Lie groups in which a modern point of view was adopted systematically, namely, that a continuous group can be regarded as a global object. To develop this idea to its fullest extent, Chevalley incorporated a broad range of topics, such as the covering spaces of topological spaces, analytic manifolds, integration of complete systems of differential equations on a manifold, Group and the calculus of exterior differential forms. The book opens with a short description of the classical groups: unitary groups, orthogonal groups, symplectic groups, etc. These special groups are then used to illustrate the general properties of Lie groups, which are considered later. The general notion of a Lie group is defined Group and correlated with the algebraic notion of a Lie algebra; the subgroups, factor groups, Group and homomorphisms of Lie groups are studied by making use of the Lie algebra. The last chapter is concerned with the theory of compact groups, culminating in Peter-Weyl's theorem on the existence of representations. Given a compact group, it is shown how one can construct algebraically the corresponding Lie group with complex parameters which appears in the form of a certain algebraic variety (associated algebraic group). This construction is intimately related to the proof of the generalization given by Tannaka of Pontrjagin's duality theorem for Abelian groups. The continued importance of Lie groups in mathematics Group and theoretical physics make this an indispensable volume for researchers in both fields.
